Oakland Institute Receives the UNA East Bay Global Citizen Award

On October 24, marking the 62nd anniversary of the United Nations, Anuradha Mittal and the Oakland Institute received the United Nations Association (UNA) East Bay's 2007 Global Citizen Award, in recognition of the Institute's work to promote social and economic justice globally.

The Global Citizen Award is an annual award, presented to individuals and organizations that demonstrate exemplary actions to address poverty and hunger and help fulfill the UN's Millennium Development Goals throughout the world.

We are honored to share this recognition this year with Mayor Tom Bates and the City of Berkeley; Dr. Peter Gleick, President, Pacific Institute; and Rev. Este Cantor and the Episcopal Diocese of San Francisco.

Thanks for your ongoing support that has made our work possible!
