Elizabeth Bravo

Elizabeth Bravo Velasquez, Senior Fellow at the Oakland Institute, is a founding member of Ecuador based environmental organization Accion Ecologica and is the Coordinator of the Network for a GMO-Free Latin America. She is also a member of the Oilwatch Networ and a Professor at the Polytechnic Salesian University.

With a doctorate in Microbiology from the University of Wales, U.K., Elizabeth specializes in biodiversity and the impact of biotechnology on agriculture and food sovereignty. Her published books include, Fueling the Debate on Biofuels: Biomass Production and Food Sovereignty in Latin America, Soy: Instrument of Food and Agriculture Control, Corn: Sacred Crop in the Business of Hunger and Food Aid and GMOs.
