Dr. Gregor Wolbring a Senior Fellow at the Oakland Institute, is based at the University of Calgary, Canada and works as a biochemist, a bioethicist, a disability/vari-ability studies scholar and as a health policy and sociology of new and emerging technologies researcher.

Dr. Wolbring is a founding member of the Center for Nanotechnology and Society at Arizona State University, USA; founder of the International Centre for Bioethics, Culture and Disability; and of the International Network on Bioethics and Disability. He teaches online courses through the University of Calgary) on issues related to bioethics, health research, governance of science and technology and social impact evaluation of new and emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, biotechnology, cognitive sciences and synthetic biology.

Dr. Wolbring also serves on the board of organizations such as the Executive of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, ETC- Action Group on Erosion, Technology, and Concentration- formerly known as RAFI and chairs the bioethics taskforce of Disabled People International.
